Agapio

Privacy Policy · Effective October 5, 2026

Agapio is a reading app. This page explains, plainly, what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it. If a sentence here doesn't answer your question, the contact section at the bottom will.

01

Who we are

Agapio is made by Razvan Agapi, an independent developer, who is responsible for the personal data described here (the "controller", in the language of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation). You can reach me at rey.rey.agapi@gmail.com.

02

What we collect

Agapio works without an account: browsing, reading, and keeping stories all happen on your device, and nothing that identifies you is sent to us. The table below covers what's collected, when, and the legal basis for using it.

DataWhenWhy, and legal basis
Email address Only if you create an account (email, Google, or Apple sign-in) To identify your account and let you sign in again. Needed to provide the account you asked for (contract).
Reading activity Only if signed in Categories you've chosen, stories you've kept or passed, and your reading streak, synced so your progress follows you across devices (contract).
Usage analytics Whenever a story is opened; anonymous unless you're signed in Which story was opened and its category, so we know what's actually being read. If you're signed in it's linked to your account, but we only use it for aggregate counts, never to build a profile of you (legitimate interest in improving the app; you can object, see section 06).
Bug reports Only if you send one from the You tab The message you write, so we can fix what went wrong (legitimate interest). Please don't put personal details in it.
Subscription status Only if you subscribe Apple and RevenueCat handle the purchase and tell us whether it's active. We never see your card details or Apple ID (contract).
Display preferences Always, on your device only Theme (light/dark) and reading style. Stored only on your device and never sent to us.

Like any internet service, our providers' servers briefly record technical data such as IP addresses in their logs, for security and to keep the service running.

03

What we don't do

  • No ads, and no ad network embedded in the app.
  • No selling or renting your data to anyone, for any reason.
  • No tracking you across other apps or websites.
  • No location data collected.
  • Nothing about you is ever sent to the AI service we use to write stories.
04

Who else touches your data

We use a small number of specialist services to run Agapio. Each only sees what it needs to do its one job:

Some of these companies are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or otherwise by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

05

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

Signed-in account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Agapio's You tab, under Account. This permanently removes your account and your synced reading progress. Analytics linked to your account are unlinked from it and kept only as anonymous counts. If you'd like a bug report you sent removed, email us. Apple and RevenueCat keep their own records of purchases, as billing and tax law require. Anything that only ever lived on your device is entirely in your control: uninstalling the app removes it.

06

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable format. If you're in the EU, the UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you can also object to or restrict how we use it, including the analytics described above.

To do any of this, email the address at the bottom of this page. We'll answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

07

Children's privacy

Agapio is a general reading app and isn't directed at children. Reading without an account collects nothing that identifies anyone. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under 16 in countries that set a higher age for consent to online services. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

08

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date above. We won't quietly widen what we collect without saying so here first.
